i tried to study a bit yesterday, but sadly for me, i spent most of yesterday trying to recover from the previous night's adventures. my hangover came and went with the day and seemed to peak right when i was trying to watch a movie while going to bed. and while the headace has disappeared today, i think i'm still paying the price with my stomach. my tummy hasn't been feeling right at all since saturday night. was it the bad tofu instead?? hmmm...
i am currently suffering through a physics lab report... cursed class/lab. not only is the lecture absolutely and totally unimportant and insignificant to my needs, the lab is merely tedious and time-consuming. i don't think that as a pharmacist any patient will ever approach me and inquire about the particulars of the second law of thermodynamics. and if anyone was ever brazen enough to do so, i would point them towards my much more knowledgeable engineering friends anyways. *sigh*

3 AM
there's a great song called "4 PM" by sukiyaki, which is basically a love song, but in thinking about my title for this post, i thought of the song and decided that someone should make up a song about 3 AM. essentially, it would be an ode to late night adventures and tales of inebriations. =)
if i had done this post last night, it might've been much more interesting, seeing as how i was drunk and all. apparently, i haven't lost my knack for late night debaucheries. first was dinner at a japanese/korean restaurant (jae's), which had good sushi, but i was disappointed in the spicy tofu. afterwards, miss janice called it a night, so i rang up charles to see if he'd be drunk with me somewhere. it happily agreed and also called the dans to come along and join in on the fun. we drank until the pourhouse kicked everybody out around 2:30 am. i was probably the drunkest, but i guess that that's not news to anybody. when i got home, i realized it was 3 am and was quite suprised that it was so late. the past couple weeks that i'd been going out, we usually ended it early. good to know i haven't lost my touch. ;) as always, good times!

Maroon 5 and Yoga
yesterday's yoga class was quite painful. the instructor did some stuff with tennis balls, amongst other things, and it was a very interesting kind of pain. although, i think that it did the trick with some of the knots in my back!!
i took a different way home from yoga yesterday, it was longer, but i found it a much more pleasant walk!! there were some very nice buildings and pretty shops (all with snow!), and while i had to be on feet longer than on public transportation, it made me like Boston just a little bit more. :)
got Maroon 5 tickets to three different shows, and i think i've broken the bank, but totally worth it. hopefully, ryan will be feeling better again and he'll be with the rest of the band, and if not, i'm fairly sure that he'll be at the LA and Anaheim shows. w00t! verra excited!
other news to report later, but i'm ready to be vegetative. have a good weekend all!!

more snow pics
i was going for astheticism, but instead, i really just wanted to show you what i had to go through today just to go outside!!
the apartment buildings on my street. i should've taken a pic of the street itself, you would see that i could probably snowboard down the hill.
more apartments, i might try to live there next year.
that's my shadow, and that's the walkway i had to walk through!
now i'm just walking ontop of snow piles. good thing i've got boots now, but i think i'm going to tell my mom to send me my snowboots.
look at this wall! it's almost as tall as me!!
just showing you more snow. :)
try driving in this crap. oh yes, the night before, people were actually driving on top of snow.
another snow-filled walkway that was hard to walk on with my sever lack of coordiation.
the train tracks again, this time with more snow. oh yeah, i waited at the station for 20 minutes, nearly freezing to death, only for one of the MBTA workers to drive by and tell everyone that the trains weren't working in my area and that we had to take the bus. craptastic!
another brave trooper in the snow. actually, there were quite a bit of people out and about today. even though there's lots of snow, the sun was shining and the sky was clear, so it was a verra pretty day.
poor parking meters.
this is the south entrance to my school. the west entrance is much fancier. once again, snow everywhere.
i had lunch here today! i wanted shabu shabu, but once we found out that only the buses were running in our area, janice suggested this place instead since it was closer than china town. it was verra good, and i had hot asian soup, which was my main goal for the day.
harvard school of public health.
once again, the stop and shop, but with a whole lot more snow.
i'm glad i don't drive in boston.
first church of christain science. i'm a little leery of what goes on inside there, but they have a verra nice facility.
and finally, so you don't forget what i look like:
with the snowy weather, it takes me twice as long to get ready to go out. i have extra clothes underneath my regular clothes, plus i have boots, a coat, earmuffs, scarf, hat, gloves... I MISS SUMMER CLOTHING!! yeah, i know, some of you were tanning at the beach yesterday, in the middle of january no less... BOO!
but despite the cold cold weather, i must admitt, i'm glad i went outside today, for it was verra pretty and the air felt nice and clean because of the recent snow fall. it was also fun to watch everyone waddle in the snow. while i shall always prefer the perpetual california sunshine, a few bostonian seasons can't really hurt me.
since today was a snow day and class was cancelled, i will make a half-assed attempt to study now. we'll see how that actually works out. ;)

snow pics
i've been promising for a while to post pics of boston, and so on the way home on this wintery day, i took a couple nice snowy shots for all you kids. :)
think this can still spit water?
at the stop and shop, got knives today =)
the parking lot of the stop and shop. good thing i don't have to live up there.
tracks of the subway.
this is man, sans-sun and california weather. yeah yeah, i know, it's 80 degrees over there.

whoa.
snowed all day today. just looked outside my window and there was a gorgeous blanket of snow. nice. :)
spent the day lounging, didn't even go outside, so i have no clue as to how cold it is. tomorrow i will try to be productive, at least a little bit. i made an unrealitic goal to read 4 books a month, and that isn't counting the books i have to read for school. why? i don't know, i just packed all of the books i had at home that i hadn't read yet and brought them here, and i figure that since i dragged the heavy suitcase up three floors, i had better read them, lest my efforts go to waste. i might try to catch a movie tomorrow, but yesterday when we went to chinatown, a bought a bunch of HK movies. i might just stay in again tomorrow and make it another dvd day. also, janice lent me season two and three of 'sex and the city'. i spent the whole day watching the entire second season and 'mean girls', which was also leant to me by janice.
if i'm never going to get married, i'm going to have problems opening jars. that, or i need to start working out again. i was making pasta and the damn spaghetti jar was ridiculously tight. i eventually did get it open, but it was quite a task.
not too exuberantly exciting of a day, but relaxing and restful, which is all that i ask of a sunday. =)

asian adventure
as the title indicates, rah! had a faboo evening this evening... as well as a great day this day! had dim sum, and then traversed about the Chinatown area, which was uber-terrific because i was able to purchase some HK movies, which, for some reason, i am crazy about. then, Tracy and Janice made a visit over to my humble abode to check out my living arrangements. i wasn't able to clean much, but i think they were sufficiently pleased. they said it was homely. i think they just meant it was a big mess. afterwards, i took a mini-nap, then Janice, Tracy, Beth and Annie and I had a few drinks and headed over to Veno, which on Saturdays is an Asian club. it was not too bad; took awhile before it got crowded, but we had fun drinking and dancing. one dude, after missing out on janice, tried to dance with me, which as you know, i'm a nice person and i'll give anyone a chance, but then he tried to touch my boobs, which i wasn't too kopasetic with, so it was hasta la vista to him. around 2 the club closed, so we went home. a guy was trying to get my phone number. i gave him my screenname instead, but apparently, that wasn't good enough for him. it took us FOREVER to find a cab, but eventually we did, which is why i'm home now, safe and sound, and still mildly buzzed. i did not get uber-drunk today, but i think those days are passed me now. i still like to party and have fun, but i know longer have this urge to get ridiculously wasted and smashed. good thing too, my hangovers were starting to get super yucky.
i wonder what the girls are doing. linda, lynda and vikki all called me. they must be up to something. i only spoke with lynda because i wasn't at the club yet, but afterwards linda and vikki called but it was too loud for me to want to talk to them. annie called too. dang, whole world wants to talke to me. *sniff* so nice to be loved and missed. ;)
off to wash my face now and brush my teeth. was merry and drunk tonight and hope that all of my loved ones were too. PEACE.

Best Feeling
A friend was filling out a survey of random questions and one of the items was "best feeling in the world." She responded: being in love. I pondered this for a bit, for it was quite interesting, and I must say, that the best feeling for me must be being drunk. For in being drunk, I can experience a variety and diversity of emotions, often times all in one incidence. Most times, I am just merry and happy and ridiculously joyous--not to mention the times where I get rambunctious and have my reign with random guys at clubs. ;) However, there have also been rare times where I have been psychotically sentimental, morbidly depressed, viciously angry, turbidly manic... a plehtora of other interesting human emotions... and depsite the failings of some of these necessary emotions, they are all at once important and life affirming. For pain and intensity in life only lead us to realize that life is real. And luckily for me, for the most part, I am a happy drunk, so the (exuberantly often times) when I am drunk, the feeling is blissful and transcendeant and vindictive. Belligerant drunk and alcholic you say? I say resilient life liver. These arguements are not strong enough in my current state of mind, however, they are releasing and beautiful, and in this short life that we all lead, it's enough for me. I don't ask for much. All I ask for is memories, good times and fun. It is safe to say that I am not without those joys and I shall never be questioning the extitensial meaning of life, for I know what the meaning of life is. What is it???? You shall have to ask me in person, for these grandiose intimations and indications of what life is, is only meant of the very few who are important and essential to my life, and you know who you are. As such, if you of those people, you already know the answer. ;)
Good night my dears. Peace and joy always be with you. The only important sage words that I can offer for you tonight are these, if you can accept them: Life Happens. 'Nuff said?

Four Important Words in Life
I'm a sucker for awesome colloquialisms and quotes. Here's a faboo one I heard on The Bachelorette tonight.
Four important words in life: lie, cheat, steal, drink.;)
If you're going to lie, lie for a friend.
If you're going to cheat, cheat death.
If you're going to steal, steal hearts.
And if you're going to drink, drink with me.
Home Away from Home
Flight was quick, although too turbulent for my tastes. Arrived in the early hours of the morning and was pleasantly suprised to see a soft blanket of snow on the ground! First day of class was typical... will need to start drinking coffee again though. Still slightly jetlagged... will take an afternoon nap soon. =)

signing off
Yes! I have finished packing. All that's left to do is to turn off the laptop and put it in the backpack. Winter break was uber-awesome, no doubt due to my super awesome friends and muy gracious familia. It feels like I never left, and though the three weeks flew by, it paradoxically also feels as though I've been here forever. Mammoth was oh-so-FABOOLOUS!! I hope we do it again next year. Traditions are lovely, such as Mokroopals (now annual?) trek to Vegas for New Years. I stand by my conviction that Vegas in New Years cannot be matched--except by New York I guess. =) And of course, OC and LA always offer excellent forms of entertainment and eatery via clubs, bars and KB. I love my Mokroopals, I love my girls, I love my family--a part of me also loves the stupid poker guys too, even tho they hardly played whilst I was here!!-- and I love love love California. Peace and joy be with you always, remember to be merry as often as possible, and maybe even drunk once in a while too.
Hasta pasta! =)
Hasta pasta! =)
Mraz at the Majestic Ventura Theatre
As always, my main man Mraz was uber-fantastic! Love love LOVE seeing him live, always. He played some new songs (w00t!) as well as old favorites (I'll Do Anything!). He even threw in some hip hop and robot, and also a cute little ditty at the end with the bassist and other guitarist. SO cool. *sigh* I heart Mraz. =)
I'll Do Anything
Go make your next choice be your best choice
And if you're looking for a boy with a voice, well baby I'm single
Are you in the mood for some dude, are you in the mood to be subdued
Or would you rather just mingle?
Let's get set then to go then and let us jet set we'll be like the Jetsons
You can be Jane my wife. Should I marry Jane tonight?
I would if I could. I'd do most anything spontaneously.
You know I would, if I could. I'll do anything spontaneously.
If you could be nimble, you'd have it simple just like me.
So go on and try it, do not deny yourself your freedom.
So step on up to the plate get a date with Mraz
See you better act fast because supplies they never last
Now did you know this is a limited time offer
So go make your mind up before our times up
You better start winding it up because the party's almost over
(and if you should know girl, go a little bit lower now)
See how I would, if I could. I'd do most anything spontaneously.
You know I would, if I could. I'll do anything spontaneously.

We can cool in the gang if you'd rather hang
Ain't no thing. I can be lugubrious with you.
I got no ifs ands ors no wits or whats about it
But this place is getting crowded and my house is two blocks away
Or maybe closer

Kressler's Key Highlights from Vegas
i couldn't come up with any of my own, so i'll borrow my more eloquent friend's words:
* the quiet superstitions in my head *
1. lisa's infamous pimp walk...this time on the strip, on video...and we have added an ass slap!
2. rodel being ridiculously drunk...also on video!
3. albert won $1000 on a wheel of fortune spin...spent the rest of the trip trying to lose it, but succeeded in winning it back.
4. kim bought a chanel bag...that is too expensive to talk about further.
5. lisa played blackjack & craps for the first time...and also vomited from alcohol for the first time
6. patrick losing A LOT of money...well, a lot for most people...but apparently not that much for him.
7. the room was comp'ed! we paid $3 total.
8. the aladdin is the best buffet hands down!
9. watching your friends drunk is great...taking care of your friends is probably a close 2nd.
10. i am good luck when it comes to taxi's...if my taxi left after the others, i still got to the destination first!
11. make sure you look like your picture in your ID. it can definitely bite you in the ass.
12. no matter what you do and where you go...there is smoke. eyedrops are your best friend.
13. the term weak sauce is 2004...in 2005, you are a biscuit. you would think biscuit and gravy would go together well...but now they mean the opposite.
14. 4 shots of vodka do nothing!
15. being frugal w/ your money isn't fun...losing it while you gamble is.
16. if you are lucky....your friends will not be. if any of your friends are lucky...that is why you are losing money.
17. albert is the luckiest person i know...PUNK.
18. kobe steak was eaten in vegas. it cost too much money.
19. kim made out with a random guy...again.
20. only go to sleep when you are 150% exhausted...because everyone's snoring will keep you awake.

The Cool Generation
True much?
Several months before nineteen unsmiling people from the Middle East woke up early on a Tuesday in order to commit suicide by flying planes into tall New York office buildings, I sent out a mass e-mail to several acquaintances that focused on the concept of patriotism. At the time, "patriotism" seemed like a quaint, baffling concept; it was almost like asking people to express their feelings on the art of blacksmithing. But sometimes I like to ask people what they think about blacksmithing, too.Klosterman, Chuck. Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs: a low culture manifesto. New York: Scribner, 2003.
So, ANYWAY, here was the content of my email: I gave everyone two potential options for a hypothetical blind date and asked them to pick who they'd prfer. The only things they kknew about the first candidate was that he or she was attractive and successful. The only things they knew about the second candidate was that he or she was attractive, successful, and "extremely patriotic." No other details were provided or could be ascertained.
Just about everyone immediately responded by selecting the first individual. They viewed patriotism as a downside. I wasn't too surprised; in fact, I was mostly just amused by how everyone seemed to think extremely patriotic people weren't just undateable, but totally fucking insane. One of them wrote that the quality of "patriotism" was on par with "regularly listening to Cat Stevens" and "loves Robin Williams movies." Comparisons were made to Ted Nugent and Patrick Henry. And one especially snide fellow sent back a mass message to the entire e-mail group essentially claiming that any womanwho loved America didn't deserve to date him, not because he hated his country, but because patriotic people weren't smart.
That last response outraged one of my friends, a thirty-one-year-old lawyer who had been the only individual in the entire group who claimed to prefer the extremely patriotic candidate to the alternative. He sent me one of the most sincerely aggravated epistles I've ever received, and I still recall a segment of his electronic diatribe that was painfully accurate: "You know how historians call people who came of age during World War II 'the greatest generation'? No one will ever say that about us," he wrote. "We'll be 'the cool generation.' That's all we're good at, and that's all you and your friends seem to aspire to."
Unrequited Love
It's quite interesting, this thing called unrequited love. Don't you think? Isn't it interesting how one person shall be in love with the other, despite the knowledge that the other party shall never reciprocate, and yet, one shall never let go, and will be satisfied knowing that their love shall never returned--that they can live like this forever? Unrequited love... it's like some weird form of quantam phsyics, or space and time... it exists, but we'll never understand it.

more contemplations
so i was chatting with alfred, and i guess he got tired with talking to me so he told me to contemplate with myself on the blog, so even though i was contemplating earlier, i have returned to contemplate a bit more. unfortunately, despite my desire to stay awake and contemplate, i can feel my brain shutting down on me and i must depart into slumber land soon... but i do not wish to!!!!
we went to The Standard tonight, a bar which i adore. it's ultra trendy, but i love the plush couches, the giant waterbeds and the night skyline. it's a rooftop bar, perfect for me this evening in which i just wanted to sit with a drink in my had whilst i stared at the stars and pondered about the universe... although truthfully, i was unable to ponder much because there was a bunch of different guys hitting on all of my friends. Godammit!! i can't even have an evening of peace and quite ponderment! oh well, alls well that ends well, it was fun amusing them and leading them on. and of course, a water bed can never go wrong. =)
hmmm, there are other things i could ramble about right now, but i am sober enough to realize that this is a public blog in which i've actually passed around a bit, and so, i shall not talk any further about my secret thoughts. alfred says that secret thoughts are what make us interesting... true enough, but he is also correct in thinking that some things should stay private... and so, i shall try to go to sleep now. i bid you all adieu until the next time i feel the urge to blog (or drunk-blog!)!!!!!!!!
dream sweet. =)

A Third Sex?
Seeing as how things are already complicated enough with just two sexes, what would happen if there were a third sex? How would we define heterosexual?? Homosexual? Would we have to come up with new terms? Would we both male and female be compatible with this third sex? Or just either male OR female? What would define this sex? What kind of anatomy would be specific, what kind of chromosomes? What would call this sex??
Some random contemplations.

Contemplative state
Dang, I've been trying to find a place to be contemplative for a week now, and still unsuccessful!! I just want to sit and chill with a drink, whether alocholic or caffeinated. *sigh*

Merry New Year!!
Two for two, New Year's in Las Vegas was fabulous!! For the second year in a row, I was drunk, I was merry, and I made out with a guy... although, as Kaylah would say, that pretty much sounds like every other night in my life. ;) But hey, it happened in Vegas and it happened during New Year's, so it was therefore special and memorable in itself. Counting down is always fun, especially when you're hammered. It's quite unfortunate that the novelty of it all wears off in about five minutes. Interestingly enough, I thought that they would have to scrape me off the floor, but the one who got visciously wasted this year was Lisa. Apparently, this was the first time she'd ever thrown up from alcohol, and she wasn't liking it too much. There is excellent video footage of the countdown aftermath--if I can ever figure out how to upload it, I'd be happy to share. Yeah, yeah... what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas--BOO! Last year's Vegas stories are still circulating this year. Haha, I think we've topped the pimp walk with a new pimp walk plus an ass slap. ;)
