Day 9: i woke up at 5 to go the gym AND IT WAS CLOSED!! boooooooooo
Day 10: i started working out, but a stomach ache came upon me that forced me to leave after only ten minutes. foiled again, this time by bowels!
what is it about packing that i despise??

Wedding/Spring Break Training
I'm back in California and winter break marks the beginning of my "diet" and exercise regime in preparation for Lynda's wedding and a cruise to the Bahamas in March. I flew in on Sunday and used that as my free day to lay about and hang with ppls, but started the training immediately the following day on Monday. In the spirit of my attempt to cut a few pounds, I thought I'd mark my progress.
Day 1: woke up around 8 and jogged/walked for 40 minutes around my neighborhood. there was more walking than jogging, but i did work up a sweat!
Day 2: lynda let me use her gym pass to 24 hour fitness while i am in cali, so woke up at 6 am and went to the gym. i had to wake up early because i started working again this day. did 40 minutes on the elliptical. i think i burned about 400 calories. at this point i realized if i wanted to burn 1000 calories a day, i'd have to be on the machine for an hour and forty minutes. o.O that is far too ambitious this early in the game.
Day 3: 6 am, 40 minutes on the elliptical. had a late start at work this day, so also did some work on the weight machines and 100 crunches. also 10 minutes in the sauna.
Day 4: same as day 3
Day 5: 40 minutes on the elliptical. no time for weights
Day 6: ditto.
Day 7: my first day off after a 40 hour week. i was lazy and could not make myself inch outside towards the gym.
Day 8 (today, Christmas): went to the gym and realized that even though it is a 24 hour facility, they are still closed because it is Christmas. not deterred, i went jogging around my neighborhood.
i've cut back on the "bad" food, but do break down in weakness once in a while. i had my in-n-out burger for lunch one day (including some well down fries) and have had brazillian bbq, beer, wine and soda. not to be forgotten, there are plans for kb in the near future as well as the plethora of all you can eat buffets that litter the las vegas strip. i will try to eat as healthily as possible, but i know myself well enough to know that i cannot deny the kb and such... come on ppl, food in cali is so good!
it seems that this winter break, aside from the las vegas trips, will be entirely devoted to the upcoming nuptuals and cruise. i'm working out so that i'll look acceptable for these events, and i'm working so that i have money to participate in said events. once i get home from work i'm so tired i just crash. it will all be well worth it, though. hopefully i shall be able to continue on with the training regime!!

ready already?
Three more days??? Where did my summer go? Ah yes, i spent it toiling away at my summer internship. Actually, work was pretty great this summer. My co-workers were cool and I learned a lot... well I learned a lot during the first 8 weeks, then the CVS conversion happened and we all became work drones. Everything was so crazy, our main goal was just to get through the day. I made lots of moolah though and racked up over 500 intern hours!!
Do not fear, I did not work my entire summer away. A few weekend getaways here and there kept me sane. There was Palm Springs, Vegas x 2, Catalina, San Francisco, and the general rowdy merriment one has with friends during the rare free time. Catalina was mucho fun. Witness my first horse back riding experience:

The hilarious part that we were not prepared for was that horses just drop a deuce whenever they feel like it. No warning! They'll just be trotting along merrily and then out of the ass, there it is! Totally gross, but still cracked us all up. Kaylah can give you a hand demonstration next time you see her. A quick look at my summer goals:
Rah, I don't want to pack!
I am half excited to go back, but of course, still sad to go. I have a few more days left and I shall enjoy them well!

making progress (?)
so, let's see how much i've accomplished this summer...
palm springs was hella hot. i don't know what would possess anyone to play golf in 120 degree weather. your golf ball would melt on the grass. we stopped briefly at cabazon. i will have to make a return trip at the end of the summer when the weather is more favorable.
i brought back all these clubbing clothes and i think i've only been clubbing twice! i got my drink on pretty well this past weekend, so not all is lost.
since the end of summer is fast approaching, i was thinking about what i would like to do on my last night in oc. i think we will go the route of nostalgia and play on the sand under the moon. it was quite fun in times past. it is still a ways away, but keep open the late hours of sept 2!
eat at all my favorite restaraunts (KB, JB, etc.)(although, i still need to hit shinsengumi and onami)- gym at least every other day (this was going well for a while, but nada mas)
lose about 5 lbs
flatten the stomach
strengthen up the noodle arms! - finish the horde of books i've stashed in my suitcase from boston:

please don't drive me home tonight
a smidge of advice: so if you're trying to get to arcadia via highway 66, and you end up hitting rancho cucamonga, YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR. (don't ask.)
i forgot to add my buyer goals... although miraculously, it is very short. of course, i'll have to wait until i start working again and have saved up a bit of moola.
one more week of blissful vacation! i'm going to maximize this opportunity with mucho sleep and lollygaggleing about.
i'm going to start and try to title my posts with song lyrics again. can you guess?? eh... you only need to google.
saw x3 and over the hedge. next week is the break-up!! who wants to go? call me! see you when i see you =)

vacation is here!
been home about a week, did much sleeping and watching of the tv. soooooooooooooooooo nice. i've also thrown in some reading material in order to round out my potatoe couch life. some goals for the summer:
i think i may have made a similar list last summer, and i recall not making it far. let's see if i have more committment this time around. also, i hope to take a few trips this summer: vegas, sf, or otherwise. i'll have to fit it around my work schedule though, as well as around everyone else's work schedule--travelling alone is not as fun! i don't start work for another week and half. i will be merrily spending that time chillaxing, as well as enjoying this lovely so cal weather. if there was anything i wish i could take with me in my suitcase back to the east, it's the california sun! call me if you're bored, i'm just laying about (er... working on my summer goals). peace, joy and daisies!

buzzing afternoon
i complain a lot about boston... the cold, the lack of KB and In-n-Out... but really, i love this city. it's one of the nation's oldest cities, is a bus ride away from NYC, and has no sales tax on clothes. and really, who can't love a city where you can walk down a street, pass a wine store, and find that that wine store is having a free wine tasting?! yum... free wine. it definitely perked me up from having to take a final on a saturday. peace, joy and happiness. =)

the final stretch
May 10th!
Save the date people, that is the day the Kim shall be returning to her warm and sunny home in the West. There will be hugs, there will drinks, there will be KB!
After living in Boston for almost two years, I finally made it to NYC. The first time was during Spring Break with Phil. We spent the day walking (a lot) and exploring. To fulfill my KB needs, we had it for both lunch and dinner. 'Twas good, but definitely did not match up to LA's. Maybe we didn't go to the right restaurants. We walked around Midtown a bit (NY's K-town), but we were unable to find all you can eat, which as this humble Californian knows, is the pinnacle of KB dining.
The second time I went to NYC was with Kressler this past week. My dear mokroopal paid me a visit and we heartily enjoyed shopping and eating in NY for day. During her visit, we did mucho walking and shopping. Kressler came during just the right time, as the weather was pretty nice, and the day after she left, the weather turned to crap again! Thanks for visiting Kressler!!! =)
There were many concerts on the schedule this year, however, the highlight was Death Cab for Cutie. After many attempts, I FINALLY got to see them. They were quite the awesome, as were Franz Ferdinand, of whom Death Cab opened for. I love me some good concerts, but I think I've reached saturation and will need a mini-break for awhile... at least a month. =)
Also in the good shows category, WICKED! OMG, what a freaking great show. From the music, to the story and the characters, this musical is one of my top five now. Le sigh... if I hadn't gone out directly afterwards, I would've bought a whole bunch of souvineir crap.
And speaking of going out, this past semester has exploded with drunken nights and good times. No complaints here, of course, although, I think my liver doth protest.
The marathon of exams has ended, but in less than a week will be the frenzy that is finals week. And just to drive us all a little nuttier, I have an exam every day of the week. BOO! However, it will all be worth it. Another year down, tres mas to go.
Mmmm... I can practically taste the KB. So again, so you won''t forget to set aside some quality debauchery time with your favorite Bostonian:
May 10th! Be there, or be oblong! =)

check it out. cali ppls didn't send me my in-n-out burger, SO I MADE IT MYSELF (with phil's help). bwahahahahahahahahaha!!! of course, not as good as the original, but actually verra tasty! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, double-double protein style. no well done fries yet, but we'll try to work on it. we also made some lemonade-ice tea. in-n-out and starbucks, eat your heart out. =)

when will it end??
so, this past month has pretty much flown by. i had so many exams, i barely noticed the weeks going by. spring break is just over a week away! i cannot wait for its arrival, but before i celebrate it, i still have 3 more exams to push through. GAWD... thus far, every day and weekend has been devoted to studying. granted, i still take the time to vegetate as much as possible and consume as much alcohol as i can (though, that volume has been stunted due to the strange flu-like illness i am slowly getting over). when spring break arrives, it's going to be 24/7 laying. i have a stack of DVDs lined up for review, as well as a some books i might peruse as well.
i'm sad to say, i won't be going back to california this year for spring break. first thanksgiving was cut from the reportoire, now spring break!! it will be more frugal for me to stay in boston and vegetate. how sad though. i was looking forward to some protein style double double and some good ass KB--and oh yeah, seeing the old boys and girls too. it seems that most everyone is doing okay without me anyways. many of the people are still partying and getting drunk. sigh, a little sad that i'm so disposable, but happy that you guys are being merry often, and being merry in style!
peace, joy and daisies.
ps. someone send me my double double!!

Chuc Muong Nam Muoi!
CVS has bought Savon and Supervalu has bought Albertsons. My future career plans are possibly in need of tweaking.
Celtics beat Kings on friday. Afterwards, there was a short All American Rejects show. We then traversed to Hooters from wings and good times. As we were leaving to go back to the T, we chanced up two of the band members coming out from their bus behind the Fleet Center! Booyah!! And they didn't want to go to Hooters. =)
Exams are beginning. I cannot motivate myself to study. Not because I think I know everything already, but because it's only the third freakin' week of school.
Dim Sum for Tet with friends. Have serious food coma and, as per usual, cannot bring myself to study. Wish I could be with the familia, and also, a few red envelopes might be nice. ^_-
Health, happiness and prosperity in the new year. ^_^

sleeping good
i have a bed! not just an air mattress anymore, an actual bed, with a headboard and springs and everything. sleep good.
sat on a bus for four hours to maine to snowboard, only to learn that the mountain was practically shut down because of high winds and ice. sat around for four hours, and then sat another four hours on the to get home.
dad thinks i have pneumonia. mom wants to fedex to me antibiotics. heh, good ol' parents.
in actuality, my cold is dispersing and i'm feeling much better.
summer internship interview on thursday. moving forward on my career path.
only the second week of school, and i'm already tired. starting in feb, one or two exams every week through spring break. gah. good thing i've got a nice bed to rest on now. =)

80 degrees in california!
during the week we were in vegas, and a few days after, it was raining with some winds. typical of winter. i developed a cough from it. yesterday, it got warm again. we actually had to turn the AC on. oh, california, how i love thee.
i went snowboarding even though i had a mildly severe cough. the bad news: i fell down and a girl behind me couldn't stop in time, so she ran into me and the edge of her board rammed into my back. there are two huge bruises and moving is a bit strenuous. the good news: i was carving! i need to go boarding again ASAP to move forward with my progress, instead of resetting back to beginner again.
sigh. need a job. for real.
less than 48 hours left in my sunny homeland. definitely not looking forward to the freezing cold of boston, but excited am i to see my apartment and bostonian friends again. hopefully the blistering cold will encourage me to stay indoors, rather than go outside and spend money that i don't have.
in vegas for new year's (third in a row). awesimo, as always. highlights:
1. dx and i willfully abdicated our 604 thrones after reluctantly trying out a double shot of 151 during one of the earlier nights of the trip
2. the david and goliath store at venetian rocks my socks
3. craftsteak, mgm = so good
4. no one got sick in our bathroom this year!
5. many ppl got sick in other bathrooms
6. i much prefer the taste of absinthe to 151, but absinth burns waaaaaaaaay more
7. club pure was verra nice, but also verra crowded and smaller than i expected
8. nick crusado is the luckiest bastard, but also the nicest. he won $9000 at a high roller slot machine, and then treated everyone to drinks.
9. touching a girls' breast will get you $100 tip from the patrick
10. around the world can get verra noisey. it's a good thing it was changed from 1 AM to 1 PM. there were 8 rooms housing our caravan of drunkards. at each room was an undisclosed shot that the room members were responsbile for. all patrons which would skip from room to room with a shot glass in hand, ready to down each shot without question or knowledge of the shot was. in reality, everyone knew what the shots were, and i totally denied the bubblicious shot because i don't like goldschlager. after the 8 shots (some ppl took doubles and triples), we all journeyed up to the pat's room to partake in some vodka. some suspected absinthe would be the last shot of the world, but that was actually reserved for after new year's countdown (see above).
11.lisa is a friendly drunk
12.don't drink yellow vodka
13.boys eat way too much buffet
14.john webb river danced on ddr, and i missed it!
15.adam backwards is mada
16. phil is the best boyfriend ever.
the calendar year has started off well. here's to a good one.

10. around the world can get verra noisey. it's a good thing it was changed from 1 AM to 1 PM. there were 8 rooms housing our caravan of drunkards. at each room was an undisclosed shot that the room members were responsbile for. all patrons which would skip from room to room with a shot glass in hand, ready to down each shot without question or knowledge of the shot was. in reality, everyone knew what the shots were, and i totally denied the bubblicious shot because i don't like goldschlager. after the 8 shots (some ppl took doubles and triples), we all journeyed up to the pat's room to partake in some vodka. some suspected absinthe would be the last shot of the world, but that was actually reserved for after new year's countdown (see above).
