When it rains, it pours...

I never owned an umbrella in California, I never had the need. Car always provided good protection, and if I happend to be at school, all I had to do was make a run for it and I'd be okay.

Definitely not the case here. I thought I could hack it without the protection, but I was sorely (or should I say wetly) mistaken. It's only a five minute walk to school but I was drenched from head to toe. My feet are STILL wet and I'm hoping I won't have to pay for m mistake with a cold later. One of my goals here in Boston was to NOT get sick. Which reminds me, I should buy some multi-vitamins. It's stopped raining for now and hopefully will stay that way until I can get my hands on an umbrella. Yes, I must succumb to the need.

MJ and Vikki were here this weekend and provided a nice reprieve from my loneliness. M and I had lots of fun (or should I say drinks) at a random club and we got to meet some cute Irish guys. The next day we did some shopping and had some more drinks and watched a movie. Ditz that I am, I left my wallet in the taxi that we took back home. Fortunately, when I called my credit card company to report my card lost, they informed me that the police had called to say that they found it. PHEW! However, I still have to make my way over to the police station and retrieve it. Hopefully everything is still in there. And then I can FINALLY call the cable people and tell them I need internet ASAP.

I've discovered that the chinese food downstairs is hella good and not too expensive, so I shall be dining there more often. Somehow I'm going to have to find a way to eat healthy and inexpensively, but I just haven't figured it out yet.

Adjusting to life here is becoming easier everyday. It certainly helps to have a TV to help the nights go by faster. If only I could get the internet going, then I could at least talk to some people!

Mom and Dad still call everyday, and while our conversations aren't long, I find myself looking forward to their calls. I should probably call Nam sometime soon, just so he doesn't forget about me.

When I get my credit card back, I can finally go out and buy some more stuff for my apt!
